About Degree

Prepare to explore the digital frontier

Digital technology and media is fundamentally changing society. Industries are being disrupted. Products and services are converging. Workforce skills are transforming.

Our new Undergraduate Certificate in Digital Futures offers valuable insight into the hidden workings of this exciting field, and sought-after skills in digital media production. It’s ideal for upskilling, strengthening your CV, or laying the foundations for a full, related bachelor degree.

What will you do?

Conducted over six months full-time or 12 months part-time, this unique, industry-informed program is designed and taught by our world-class, research-active digital industries experts. Through a flexible combination of face-to-face and digital learning, you will:

  • gain a broad understanding of changing media technologies’ role in everyday life, and their societal impact
  • research and analyse diverse media cultures from a local and global perspective
  • learn to critically interpret professional, ethical and cultural policy issues in relation to the media

Depending on your course choices, you could also build fundamental knowledge and skills in areas such as digital storytelling, data mining, music technology and virtual reality design.

Where could it take you?

You could go on to a full arts degree with a Digital Humanities major, or perhaps a Bachelor of Media—whether to start your first career, or an exciting new one. You might draw on your enhanced capabilities to step up in an existing role. Perhaps the qualification will help you win a well-deserved promotion.

* Students can look to continue further studies into a Bachelor degree with credit.
