He will deliver lectures for the core course Business Ethics and Morality, boosting high-quality disciplinary development and talent cultivation of business majors at the university. This cross-institutional academic appointment not only recognizes Dr. Yiyan Jianyin’s outstanding professional competence but also marks a key achievement of our university in exporting high-quality teaching resources and deepening industry-university-research collaborative education.

Founded in 1958, Southwest Petroleum University is China’s second-established petroleum undergraduate institution and listed in both rounds of China’s national “Double First-Class” Initiative. It is jointly sponsored by Sichuan Provincial Government, Ministry of Education, CNPC, Sinopec and CNOOC. Boasting Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering (Grade A+, national Double First-Class discipline) as its flagship major, the university covers engineering, management, economics, arts and science disciplines with comprehensive academic strength. Originated from an economics & management teaching office founded in 1982, the School of Economics and Management went through institutional restructuring, officially adopted its current name in 2006 and merged the Finance & Economics College from Nanchong Campus in 2022. It develops two core discipline clusters: Management and Economics. The school offers doctoral programs in Management Science and Engineering and an interdisciplinary doctoral track in Petroleum Engineering Management; Management Science and Engineering and Industrial Economics are key provincial-level disciplines of Sichuan. It delivers nine undergraduate majors, among which Business Administration, Accounting and Marketing are certified as National First-Class Undergraduate Majors, with complete postgraduate authorization including academic master’s degrees in Business Administration & Applied Economics and professional degrees such as MBA and MPAcc. The school runs three provincial-level research platforms including Sichuan Research Center for Petroleum & Natural Gas Development (Key Provincial Social Science Base) and Provincial Key Laboratory for Energy Security & Low-Carbon Development. Focusing on featured research of energy economics, energy enterprise governance, industrial compliance and business ethics, the school adheres to industry-education integration and regularly engages distinguished industrial specialists as adjunct faculty to upgrade its business curricula and talent cultivation mechanism.

Holder of a Doctorate in Philosophy of Education, Dr. Yiyan Jianyin has long dedicated himself to research in business ethics, corporate governance and higher business education, combining rigorous academic expertise with global industrial management experience and earning widespread recognition across academia and industry. On the academic front, his research focuses on frontier topics including business ethics construction amid digital economy, compliance management for multinational corporations and philosophy of business education. He has carried out in-depth studies on prevalent dilemmas in contemporary business ethics, corporate social responsibility and professional norms, producing practically valuable research findings that inform the applied advancement of business ethics discipline.

In industrial practice, Dr. Yiyan Jianyin boasts extensive senior management experience in multinational corporations. He has spent years facilitating the establishment of modern enterprise internal control systems, business compliance governance and industrial ethical frameworks, bridging the gap between theoretical business ethics and on-site corporate implementation. Distinct from purely theoretical scholars, he excels at developing practical business ethics frameworks tailored to China’s industrial landscape by integrating authentic business cases, global market rules and domestic development realities, making him a rare expert with proven achievements in both academic research and industrial practice.

As Rotating Chairman of the Board of The Asia Pacific School of Business, Dr. Yiyan Jianyin participates comprehensively in the university’s top-level strategic planning, disciplinary construction, international academic exchanges and industry-university cooperation. During his tenure, guided by global trends in business education, he led revisions of talent cultivation schemes and promoted iterative upgrades of featured courses such as business ethics and corporate compliance. He has also built cross-border academic exchange networks to introduce high-caliber global educational resources, advancing the internationalization and specialization of our business programs and elevating our institutional reputation and academic discourse power within the Asia-Pacific business education community.

Dr. Yiyan Jianyin also commands remarkable international influence in academia and industry. He is a regular speaker at high-profile events including Asia-Pacific business forums and global summits on business ethics, where he shares his research on Chinese corporate governance and ethical education and facilitates bilateral exchanges of educational philosophies and academic outcomes between China and overseas business schools. Additionally, he serves as a think tank expert and compliance consultant for large domestic enterprises and listed companies, guiding the standardized and high-quality development of relevant industries through customized advice on business ethics and compliance systems.

Per the appointment agreement, Dr. Yiyan Jianyin will teach Business Ethics and Morality for undergraduates of the School of Economics and Management, Southwest Petroleum University. Integrating educational philosophy theories, cutting-edge global business cases and practical scenarios from the energy sector, his teaching breaks away from rigid textbook-based instruction and centers on core themes such as modern corporate compliance, corporate social responsibility, professional ethics and shaping sound business values. His courses help students develop systematic ethical thinking, strengthen their awareness of professional compliance and moral literacy, and cultivate high-caliber management talents matching the demands of contemporary market economy and energy industry development.

This strategic cooperation carries far-reaching implications. For the School of Economics and Management at Southwest Petroleum University, the appointment reinforces its dual-qualified teaching cohort, optimizes its business ethics curriculum and injects new momentum into its distinctive energy-focused business discipline development. For The Asia Pacific School of Business, it represents a milestone in external academic collaboration and resource export, expanding institutional partnership channels and demonstrating our robust educational strength and industry standing.

Moving forward, anchored by this appointment, the two institutions will deepen multi-faceted cooperation covering joint curriculum development, academic seminars, joint talent cultivation and collaborative research projects. Leveraging Dr. Yiyan Jianyin’s academic resources and industrial advantages, both sides will advance the integration of business education and industrial practice, explore innovative models for modern business ethics education, nurture ethically sound and practically competent innovative management talents, and contribute to the high-quality development of domestic business education.
