Yufen Gong

Ms. Yufen Gong, a substitute lecturer and core member of the Academic Administration Team (China), is highly favored by her colleagues. She possesses solid educational communication competence and sound foundational knowledge in student management—attributes that underpin her effectiveness in her role. Her wisdom and kindness enable her to consistently foster a friendly and harmonious atmosphere across key work areas she oversees, including study management, curriculum planning, stakeholder communication, and various initiatives dedicated to Chinese student affairs. In particular, she excels remarkably in the communication and coordination of Chinese international student affairs, a critical aspect of her responsibilities.   When engaged in the school’s student affairs management, Ms. Gong consistently adopts a student-centric perspective. She proactively understands Chinese students’ needs and provides targeted support to help them fully participate in academic discussions and online classroom interactions. A standout example of her dedication emerged during the COVID-19 pandemic: she took the initiative to coordinate online learning arrangements for joint dual-degree students, ensuring their academic progress remained uninterrupted. Beyond this, she effectively mediated and resolved obstacles within the communication chains—whether between the school and professors, or between professors and students—thus smoothing the way for seamless academic operations.   Additionally, Ms. Gong is a master’s and doctoral candidate at the joint graduate program co-established by our school and Hannam University. While balancing her professional responsibilities as a substitute lecturer and academic administrator, she demonstrates exceptional diligence and perseverance in her academic pursuits, embodying a strong commitment to both work and study.
